About BES

Bruin Earth Solutions (BES) is a student-run environmental club that is fighting the effects of climate change and environmental issues through sustainability projects that can make a quantifiable impact. Anyone, no matter the background, is welcome at BES and can contribute in an impactful way!

Currently, BES has 5 projects each serving a different mission in the UCLA community:

Electric Transportation Organization (ETO)

Project Goal:

Converting a 1974 Volkswagen beetle into a fully functional EV. Team members are in charge of brainstorming and prototyping design aspects of the car and hands on restoration of the beetle.

LEED Certification

Project Goal:

Preparing members to pass the LEED GA exam.

Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) is a green building certification program that promotes sustainability in the built environment. LEED Green Associate (LEED GA) is the introductory exam in the LEED program. Passing the LEED GA exam certifies that one has general knowledge about sustainable practices.
